Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Signal Coding Ltd ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit theartofpausing.app (this website) or join our waitlist. It is written to reflect the small amount of data this website itself collects, ahead of the full launch of The Art of Pausing app, which will have its own, separate privacy notice.
We are committed to handling your personal data lawfully, fairly and transparently, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
The data controller for this website is Signal Coding Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, trading as The Art of Pausing. Our founder, Katie, is the point of contact for all privacy matters. You can reach us at katie@katiecoopercoaching.com.
This website
theartofpausing.app sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, with your consent, to tell you about the app’s launch and to send occasional updates about The Art of Pausing. Emails are sent through our email provider, Kit. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to delete your details at any time at katie@katiecoopercoaching.com.
What personal data we collect
At present, this website collects only one category of personal data: the email address you provide if you choose to join the waitlist. We do not use cookies, analytics scripts, advertising pixels or any other tracking technology, and we do not collect your name, IP address, device information, or browsing behaviour on this site.
Why we collect it and our legal basis
We collect your email address on the basis of your consent, given when you submit the waitlist form. We use it to let you know when The Art of Pausing app launches, and to send you occasional updates about The Art of Pausing. You may withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing or by contacting us, and this will not affect the lawfulness of anything we did with your data before you withdrew consent.
How long we keep your data
We keep waitlist email addresses for as long as you remain subscribed, and for a short period afterwards to action any unsubscribe or deletion request. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details, we will remove your email address from our mailing list within a reasonable time, save for any minimal record we are legally required to keep.
Third-party processors
We use Kit (formerly ConvertKit) to store waitlist email addresses and send emails on our behalf. Kit acts as our data processor and only handles your data in accordance with our instructions and its own privacy and security commitments. We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any other third party for marketing purposes.
Your rights under UK GDPR
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data (rectification);
- ask us to delete your data (erasure);
- withdraw your consent at any time;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data; and
- ask for your data in a portable format, where applicable.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at katie@katiecoopercoaching.com and we will respond within one month.
How to complain
We hope we can resolve any concern you have about how we handle your data, so please contact us first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK’s supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example as the app develops or our use of third-party services changes. Any changes will be posted on this page.
